Thirteen uniquely-named rooms

The charming Hotel Rural Auñamendi features 13 rooms with unique denominations referring to special locations of the beautiful surrounding scenery such as forests, rivers, nature trails, waterfalls, reservoirs, village squares, country houses, etc. These are really special places for us that have played an important role throughout the whole of our life and we are keen to share this feeling with all our guests trying to make these places special for them as well.

Our welcoming large and comfortable rooms are spread over three floors which are easily accessed by lift. All the rooms are fully equipped with finished bathrooms, central heating, laminated wood flooring, TV and free Wi-Fi. Two rooms are specifically designed for families and two other rooms are adapted for reduced-mobility users in addition to all of the common areas of the hotel.

Irabia (11)

Situated in the very heart of the Irati Forest, you can find the Irabia reservoir which constitutes a majestic deep scar of water contrasting with the closed forest reaching its shores.

Irati room is particularly designed to accommodate families and is also adapted for reduced-mobility users. The room is fitted with two single beds and a sofa-bed (sleeping area 135 x 190 cm). The room is fitted with a large window overlooking the forest.

Muskilda (12)

Muskilda is the denomination of “our mountain”. The mountain can be climbed up right from Ochagavía-Otsagabia. The Chapel of Muskilda, a Romanesque construction from the 12th century notable by its rustic style, conical roof and wood shingles can be found there.

Muskilda room is a large room special for families. The room is fitted with two single beds and a sofa-bed (sleeping area 135 x 190 cm). The room is also fitted with large windows overlooking both vegetable plots and forest.

Blankoa (21)

Blankoa is the name of the main square of Ochagavía-Otsagabia where our hotel is located and all the village events take place.

Blankoa room is equipped with a double bed (sleeping area 150 x 190 cm) and two small balconies overlooking the village square.

Beiegu (22)

From the balcony of this room there is a spectacular and clear looking out over the Beiegu, a mountain located within the township of Jaurrieta offering breath-taking views over the Salazar Valley.

Jasule (23)

Fairly close to Ezcároz, a neighbouring town of Ochagavía-Otsagabia, you can find the charming Jasule waterfalls that can be easily accessed through a beautiful local path.

Koista (24)

Located in the middle of the Irati Forest, the small Koista reservoir is considered as a haven of peace of indescribable beauty which has the peak of Ori as permanent backdrop.

Koista room is adapted for reduced-mobility users. It is fitted with a double bed (sleeping area 150 x 190 cm) and two small windows.

Zubiat (25)

The importance of family households is deeply rooted in the culture of the inhabitants of mountain villages who typically put each one the name of their own. The part of the hotel where this room is placed was built over a house named Zubiat.

Zubiat room is equipped with two single beds (with the possibility of adding an extra bed) and a large Velux style window overlooking the forest.

Bidezarra (26)

Bidezarra is the Basque equivalent to “old path”. It corresponds to the name of the path visible from the window of this room which goes along the rear vegetable plots of the households of the Urrutia neighbourhood and the “Sarria” forest.

Bidezarra room is equipped with two single beds (with the possibility of adding an extra bed) and a Velux style window overlooking the forest.

Abodi (27)

Abodi is the name of the mountain chain separating the Irati Forest from the Salazar Valley. During summertime, much of the land is used for cattle grazing while in winter it is reclaimed for cross-country skiing and taking a tour with snow rackets. It is a wonderful place for a stroll due to the extraordinary panoramic views that can be enjoyed.

Abodi room is equipped with two single beds (with the possibility of adding an extra bed) and a Velux style large window overlooking the forest and traditional vegetable plots.

Anduña (28)

Anduña is the name of the river that lies at the foot of the Ori peak and divides the village of Ochagavía-Otsagabia into two. The river is crossed by four bridges and joins the Zatoia River on the edge of the village forming the Salazar Valley.

Anduña room is fitted with two single beds and a Velux style window.

Udi (31)

Udi is the commonly held mountain of Ochagavía-Otsagabia. Its mountainsides are covered by beeches and the submit lands are used for grazing and cultivation. Furthermore, it is crossed by the cattle track of Salacencos where the migration of livestock from high up in central Pyrenees to the Bardenas of the region of Ribera Navarra takes place.

Sarria (32)

Sarria is the name of the mountain that can be virtually accessed from the hotel. Its mountainsides are covered by pine trees which can be perfectly observed through the window.

Ori (33)

Ori is the name of the most emblematic mountain of Salazar Valley. It is the first of the Pyrenees Mountains exceeding 2,000 metres above sea level which makes it a key reference for mountaineers and hikers. The ascent to the top of the mountain is quite approachable and enables visitors to enjoy the stunning views of the Irati Forest, Pyrenees Montains, Salazar Valley and Zuberoa.
